Why is my EPG not updated?

Three possible issues could be experienced on the EPG (Electronic Programme Guide). These could either be that the guide is partially shown, not updated or displaying an error saying “Unable to retrieve information needed for the programme guide”. In any case, here is what you should check:

1.  Confirm that the modem is online and try accessing the internet from another device to confirm internet connectivity.

2.   Check the physical connectivity between the HD box and the modem.

  • Ethernet: The Ethernet cable has to be securely clipped into both a modem LAN port and the LAN port in the HD box. Pull it out from both ends and clip it back in.

  • Power-line adapters (if applicable): Both power-line adapters need to be on. Confirm the physical connectivity of the Ethernet cable on both ends; ensure that the power-line adapter is not plugged into an extension or a triple plug.

3.  Reset the EPG from the Melita HD box. Here’s how:

  • Press the Menu button from the Melita HD remote control.

  • Press OK on Setup and diagnostics.

  • Go to information and diagnostics and press OK on Reset.

  • Press OK on Reset EPG.

  • Press OK to validate the EPG reset.

  • A blue scroll will be displayed “Updating EPG data, please wait…”.
  • Do not go into the programme guide for at least 15 minutes. During this time you may continue to use your Melita HD box as usual.

4.  If you have a Melita  iBox HD, you may need to reset the iBox memory:

  • Press the Menu button from the Melita HD remote control.

  • Press OK on Setup and diagnostics.

  • Go to information and diagnostics and press OK on Reset.

  • Press OK on Format Internal Storage.
  • A message will be displayed: “Hard disk format in progress, please wait…”. This may take a few seconds.
