Why is my HD Box not responding to the remote commands?

First, you need to identify whether your remote operates through IR (Infrared Frequency) or RF (Radio Frequency). Pull out the battery cover and turn it around. An IR remote should have two batteries and a black sticker indicating that it is an IR remote control should also be stuck to the inside of the battery cover. See below images for reference:

If the remote has only one battery, with no black sticker on the inside of the battery cover, then this means you have an RF remote control. See below image for reference:

If you have an IR remote control:

1.  Pull out the battery and insert the battery up-side-down and leave it for 5 seconds. This is done to inverse the polarity which results in draining any access energy travelling through the remote circuitry.

2.  Press the OK button from the Melita HD remote control and sustain for about 10 seconds.

3.  Pull out the battery and insert the battery right-side up. Once the battery lid is in place, test by pressing the Channel Up button just once and wait for about 5 seconds.

4.  If the problem persists, check that the battery in the remote control has enough power. Try to replace the battery with a new one and test again.

5.  Reboot your Melita HD Box.

6. If the problem persists, take the Melita HD remote control to one of our Retail Outlets so it can be replaced. Click here to find out your nearest shop.

If you have an RF remote control:

Is the LED light on the Melita HD Netbox blinking when you press any key on the Melita HD remote control?

If the LED light blinks:

1.  Reboot the Melita HD Netbox in the following manner:

  • Turn off the Netbox from the power switch.
  • Turn on the Netbox from the power switch.

2.  If a reboot doesn’t solve the problem, you need to pair your remote control. Here’s how:

  • Press and hold the Reset button for 5 seconds from the Melita HD Netbox.

  • Press and hold the number indicated on the screen. This would be shown in bold between two inverted commas.
  • If nothing happens, then press 1 and 7 simultaneously for 5 seconds. Upon release, press the bold number straight away.

  • Press the same number again to confirm the pairing process.

  • Great! Your remote is now paired to your Melita HD Netbox. Press the OK button to continue.

If the LED light does not blink:
